Mod textiles

The professor's sister is an interior designer. A few years ago she had a client who chose some wonderful classic modern fabrics for a space on which she was working. When the job was complete there were some remnants of the fabric leftover; remnants that, because of their size, were not really very useful. But, knowing that the professor would love them anyway, she passed them along to us.

What did we do with them? We bought some inexpensive canvas frames at the local art supply store, stretched the material over them, stapled it down, and hung them on the wall. In short order we had some colorful, unique, and inexpensive wall hangings, but best of all when it comes to examples of classic modern design these fabrics are at the top of the list!

In Tukes' room we have Small Dots in five basic colors designed by Charles and Ray Eames in 1950.

In Boo's room we have Geometri in three vibrant color schemes designed by Verner Panton in 1960.
