Spotted yesterday!

Yesterday morning the professor came home to get his coffee and lunch after his early morning Bible study . As he stepped in the door he started to excitedly tell me about the "sweet ride" that he had spotted in a parking lot not far from our house -- a 1961 Lincoln Continental. And because every male (down to the 1 year old) in our family is a car nut, we all had to load up and go see it! After dropping Boo off at school I set out with the camera in hand and Tukes in the stroller and we strolled our way over to take a second, closer look.

Now THIS is a steering wheel.

The classic suicide doors.

And don't forget the white wall tires!

The professor wanted to leave a note inquiring if the owner would be interested in selling. I must admit that I chuckle every time I imagine him driving this big, old boat to campus each morning while sipping his coffee!

Made iconic the day President Kennedy was shot while riding in the limousine version of this same car.
