Today the boys and I headed downtown to
the barbershop so that Boo could get a haircut. When the hair cutting was finished we made our way across the street to the drugstore for some lemonade.

On the main intersection in downtown sits a landmark, an institution of sorts... a place that echoes with tradition. This drugstore and soda fountain have been serving our little town and campus since 1896.

The drugstore no longer houses a pharmacy to fill prescriptions, but you can still step in there for bandaids, cold medicine, and toilet paper, or have lunch at the counter and a hand-dipped ice cream cone.

The cool air and ceiling fans are inviting on a hot summer day; the antique fixtures and old photographs remind us of years gone by. We always enjoy the fresh squeezed lemonade... and the novelty of stepping back in time.
