Saturday morning

Good morning, friends. Do you like my Saturday morning blooms? When I got up this morning and saw them bathed in sunlight they made me happy, just as they did last night when the professor brought them home along with half a gallon of key lime pie ice cream.

A stormy gale blew through late Thursday afternoon -- the sky grew dark, the rain fell in torrents, and the wind whipped. A cool front followed. What, cool air in early August in the deep south you ask? How glorious! My spirits have soared since then; yesterday was beautiful -- crisp, blue skies and dry, breezy coolness... so strange for August. The angle of the sunlight seems to be changing slightly. Suddenly I can sense a hint of the promise of autumn in the air. I relish the changing of the seasons.

Of course, the humidity will rise again soon and so will the temperatures. I'm sure we'll be back to scorching and roasting soon, but the break has been so nice.

One night earlier this week the professor and I were able to step out onto the driveway and watch the space station pass over our house. What a treat! It shone so brightly and moved so quickly as it made its way across the night sky.

On the agenda today... enjoy having the windows open with fresh air filling the house, wash all bed linens, oversee Boo and the writing of thank you notes, post office, library, and homemade pizza. The professor continues to cross items off "The Five Year Plan." I'll show you my new interior doors soon. It's a happy Saturday.
