We'll be having a regular old record party at our house today. Forget play lists and ipods and mp3's... today it's all about the Magnificent Magnavox Stereophonic High Fidelity Console Stereo. The old Christmas albums that belonged to the professor's grandparents will be spinning on the hi-fi. I'm telling you it doesn't get much better than Mahalia Jackson's rendition of Silent Night.While the stereo hums and pops in the background I've got cookies to bake, Christmas cards to think about, and a shepherd boy that needs to be outfitted. And, at some point, I must venture out and join the masses for a bit of shopping. I would rather stay at home!

Before yesterday I was only vaguely familiar with Blogger's daily featured blog... I certainly never imagined that such a recognition would come to this little spot.
