Colorforms

I doubt you've been sitting around wondering what Tukes got for his birthday. But, oh, let me tell you!

We gave him The Original Colorforms Set, a replica of the first set of Colorforms that was introduced in 1951. Do you remember them? Perhaps, like me, you had a variation of the original set featuring cartoon characters.

This gift was, of course, the professor's idea {there is a reason that he does the toy shopping in our family}.

Before breaking open the box we tried to explain what Colorforms are to the boys... "They're kind of like stickers, but they're not sticky, and they come in different shapes and colors. You can make pictures with them." What... like stickers but not sticky??? We might as well have said, it's like a lollipop except it doesn't have sugar in it.

We dove into colorforming fun one rainy afternoon last week and when we did the boys "got it" immediately. Oh my, they are having so much fun peeling, sticking, and making pictures! For me, the best part is watching them enjoy shapes and colors while using their imaginations.
