9:42 a.m. The Egg Tree

Our elderly neighbors have created the most amazing Easter egg tree bush. The children love to bicycle past it in the afternoons when homework is finished. Sister always yells, "Eggs! Eggs!" as we pedal by. The sweet couple is often sitting on their carport and they always smile and wave at us.

We've enjoyed reading The Egg Tree this week, a charming, vintage storybook that was rescued from a local library's discard pile. While it doesn't focus on the real meaning of Easter, it's a fun read.

This weekend we plan to dye Easter eggs. The boys are very excited; we've never done this before. I guess I'll be eating a lot of egg salad next week... no one else will touch hard boiled eggs.

And, now it is raining very hard. Here's wishing all of you a lovely spring weekend.
