Cars

I think it's safe to say that my boys are very passionate in their love of cars... and trucks... and pretty much anything with wheels. Boo tells me he wants to be a mechanic when he grows up.

Hot Wheels cars and Matchbox cars are a staple at our house; always the toy du jour. They are portable and small; perfectly sized to fit in pockets, or simply to be clenched in fists. They bring amusement, smiles, and delight.

The professor has saved his childhood collection of cars and sometimes he pulls them out of the attic and shares. The boys love that. They have a vast collection, both new and vintage, and somehow they know the name of each one.

We have cars.

I dig them out of the sofa cushions on a daily basis. I find them inside pillow cases... in my purse... under beds and furniture... in the car cup holders. I step on them in the middle of the night if I happen to be walking around in the dark. One time I even fished one out of the toilet... along with a stuffed bear.

And, the other day Tukes found a brand new place for storing cars. Yes, my friends, that is a car wedged in the dishwasher vents!
