Telephones

This telephone belonged to the professor's great-grandmother. In fact, my mother-in-law remembers BeeBee sitting at her little telephone table in the hallway talking to her friends on it! Her home number is still centered on the dial. From what I've heard about her she did love to talk!

Of course the sentiment alone makes this telephone worth keeping and displaying, but it's also considered to be a 20th century American icon! We keep it in our bedroom atop the cedar chest; the boys love to spin the dial!

And, let's not forget the aqua princess! This one belonged to the professor's aunt. Isn't the color wonderful? So period. Most definitely a nice little punch of brightness on our living room shelves.

You can spot one of these phones in the original version of the movie "The Parent Trap" in Susan's California bedroom. Remember? Its compact design was perfect for use in a bedroom and the dial lights up, a night light perhaps?! Its slogan, "It's little...It's lovely...It lights."
