Rescued

Speaking of aluminum chairs...

Saturday evening after we tucked the boys into bed the professor went to Kroger to pick up a few items for me. He came home with everything I requested and something extra. Somewhere along the 1.5 mile stretch between home and Kroger he spotted, in the dark, a solid-backed aluminum side chair in a roadside trash pile. The man sure can sniff out a good piece of furniture that is being thrown away!


The frame is in good condition; the upholstery and seat cushion are deeply ripped. I'm not sure what we'll do with it. If we can't find a use for it we'll pass it along to someone else. As the professor says, "It's not about keeping it. It's about rescuing it."


For now, the boys think the chair is just for them...
