Around Town, Freewheeler

At the north end of downtown stands the Freewheeler building, the side of which is a painted billboard, a focal point when driving down our town's main street. For years the Freewheeler was a local bicycle shop, now it's just a vacant building {with a lot of potential}. Late one afternoon last week I visited the old place with my camera in hand. Here are my three best shots in the series, and why I like them.

I love the gradient of light captured in this shot... bright, nearly shiny, late afternoon sunlight at the top left, dark and saturated color at the bottom right.

The red brick building in the background provided a nice contrast. Nice clouds and composition.

Isn't the sky beautiful? Such a deep blue with interesting clouds. And, for some reason, I love seeing the power lines in this shot.

I think the middle shot is my favorite. The composition appeals to me and I like the saturated colors.
