101 Places You Gotta Visit Before You're 12!

Here is a book that Boo and I have been enjoying recently --
101 Places You Gotta Visit Before You're Twelve! by Joanne O'Sullivan. If you are endeavoring to live an interested life with your children, if you enjoy seeking out local sights, or if you homeschool and are looking for some fresh fieldtrip inspiration then this is the book for you!

101 Places offers general destinations, many of which can be found in most cities and towns, places that every child (and adult) should see and experience firsthand. A subway, an ethnic restaurant, an amazing architectural achievement, a landfill.

The pages are full of beautiful, full-bleed color photography inspiring curiosity and a desire to explore. With each recommended sight there is a short paragraph discussing what one can learn while visiting such a place. A stargazing spot, a working farm, an art museum, a newsroom.

Boo and I have started to discuss which places we've already visited -- an artist's studio, check!; a parent's workplace, check!; an old folks home, check!; an airplane hangar, check! And, we are looking forward to visiting many more places, learning along the way.

Note -- As Christian parents there may be some destinations that you choose to overlook, such as "a place that is haunted."
