A teapot mystery

This vintage china teapot with matching container came from the home of the professor's great-grandfather (who, incidentally, lived to be 103). It's design is decidedly modern, with a cubist yet streamlined look. We love this little set. It looks great sitting on our living room shelves.

Sadly the designer and origin of these items remain a mystery to us. We have no idea who created them (and the design is rather nice, I think), when they were created, or what company produced them.

And so, we enjoy them and we wonder about them.

This is the marking on the bottom. It means nothing to us. Despite searching about, all information alludes us. Perhaps you know something. If you do, enlighten us please!
