A May Day Giveaway

Let's have tea, you and me; it is, afterall, May Day. It's the first day of May, the day that marks the official end of a long, chilly winter (for many of you). Let's celebrate Spring in her fullness, her blossoms and her greenery. Let's celebrate friendships, too!

How will you take your tea? Naturally I like mine sweet, two spoonfuls of sugar will do, and lemon not cream. I've got little cookies and savories, someone else will have to bring the cake...

Now that Spring is here how will you gather with friends? When we were little my sister once had a May Day birthday party -- little girls in dresses dancing about the May-pole that my dad constructed in our front yard. These days we like to cookout with friends and family. What a delight it is to see a yard full of kids smacking croquet balls across the lawn. Perhaps you and a loved one will have tea; the professor and I often do that, very informally, on Sunday afternoons. However you enjoy Spring be sure to do it with those you love.

One thing that I love is seeing you here each day. Thank you for reading and chatting. I've said it before and I'll say it again, because it's true, you all encourage me and make me smile!

Last week I paid a visit to my favorite antique booth (wish you could've joined me). It's a little corner space stuffed in with a hundred other little spaces, but this one is special. Such beautiful and unique silverplated pieces the dealer sells, and such good prices. Oh, I do love to browse and shop in that little booth.

From my little shopping booth I have to give away to one of you an 1847 Rogers Bros. silverplated sugar spoon in the Old Colony pattern -- a pattern that was produced from 1911 until 1947. Her details are beautiful; such an elegant little spoon. She looks so pretty resting in a sugar bowl.

For a chance to win this dainty beauty please leave me a comment telling me how you take your tea (or coffee) or how you like to spend time with friends and family in the Spring. I'll leave the comments open through Tuesday, May 6 then I'll select a winner at random, which I will announce on Wednesday, May 7. I can't wait to see who wins!

Please remember, the sugar spoon is at least 60 years old, possibly older, so it is not in mint condition, although its condition is very good. And, the sugar bowl and creamer stay with me!
