Highlights of 2007

- In January my baby boy, Tukes, turned one year old. He has since learned to walk, then run, and talk (a bit). He is no longer a baby but a happy and active toddler well on his way to boyhood.

- The last week in March saw us in northern Italy. The professor had a teaching engagement and I was able to tag along. We spent a happy week exploring Milan, Venice, and the Italian Alps. It was an unforgettable trip; what an opportunity!

- In May our family spent a fun-filled long weekend at the beach. To say that the boys loved it is an understatement! My middle sister and her husband announced that they were expecting their second little one!

- August was full of activity and exciting developments despite being a scorching month. Boo turned five years old and a few weeks later excitedly started kindergarten. And, my youngest sister became engaged! I also started blogging -- something that has proven to be a fun and creative outlet for me.

- The professor received the Most Outstanding Faculty Member award for his department for the 2006-07 school year and was honored at a banquet in October. I am very proud of him. At the end of the month I spent a relaxing, happy weekend in Wilmington, Delaware with two dear college friends.

- We enjoyed spending Thanksgiving on Lookout Mountain with my mother's family.

- And, in December my middle sister gave birth to our newest little nephew! She now has two boys just like me. My parents now have 4 grandsons -- quite a change after raising 3 daughters!

- Throughout the year the professor has continued with our home renovations. He has installed more recessed light fixtures than I care to count, built a wall, torn out paneling and hung sheet rock, patiently primed and painted walls and ceilings, hung new doors, painted old doors, and hung new exterior shutters. We are far from finished and we'll continue to plod along using spare moments and spare pennies. There is always a project going on at our house please pardon the dust!

This year has been a rich and blessed year for us. Of course it has not been without its trials and hardships, but God has been (and is) so faithful to rain His blessings upon us. We do not deserve His goodness to us and we are grateful.

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
James 1:17
